Have Ao Nang and Koh Lanta been affected by the flooding??

Featured Replies

My daughter and her family will be in Thailand next month, and had planned to spend some time in Ao Nang and Koh Lanta. However, she's worried that the recent flooding in the south may have affected those places, and is wondering if she should change her plans. She was planning on being there about this time next month. She says she's checked on the internet, but can't find any relevant information, so I thought the best thing would be to get the opinion of people who are actually living in those areas and know what's going on.

Grateful for any advice on this which I can pass on to her.

Cheers.

One guy posted a  very good satellite weather photo from 16:00.

the worst seems to be over by now . .the monsoon clouds are receeding in most places.  Parts of both coast east & west are but still getting heavy showers.  By the time they arrive it should be fine.  You can also refer to the satellite maps and the forecasts on the Website of the Thailand Meteorological Department, link is here:

They were effected but everything is virtually back to normal now.
Koh Lanta had quite a lot of structural damage because of the high wi DS on Sunday rather than the rain.

Thanks guys, I'll pass it on. Looks like she'll be ok to stick to her plans.
