January 10, 20179 yr Ok, has anyone had success bringing in an engine, either in pieces or hidden with the rest of your belongings at time of relocating to Thai in shipping container.? i realise it is illegal etc etc. BUT no different than Thai trying to rort us on what already belongs to us. u don't have to answer here, feel free to pm me if u like. and if u were to do it proper, and apply for import permit, how do the value such an item, especially if it is something fairly rare? So if they're gonna slug u 30%, 30% of bloody what? What at erks me is that these are items already owned and paid for with blood sweat and tears, literally, and said items are not easily bought in Thailand, and most certainly NOT produced there in any fashion, yet we're scammed beyond belief if we want to keep them.
January 11, 20179 yr Wouldn't try me self but would sell and buy in Thailand to save the hassle. If found they might confiscate the whole container contents.
January 13, 20179 yr Containers get scanned and check more often than many people think. Not worth the hassle unless you know a shipping forwarder who you can give some tea money to pass on to customs turn a blind eye on your shipment.
