January 10, 20179 yr Quote Pre-exposure prophylaxis, or PrEP, is a way for people who do not have HIV but who are at substantial risk of getting it to prevent HIV infection by taking a pill every day. The pill (brand name Truvada) contains two medicines (tenofovir and emtricitabine) that are used in combination with other medicines to treat HIV. When someone is exposed to HIV through sex or injection drug use, these medicines can work to keep the virus from establishing a permanent infection. PrEP is a powerful HIV prevention tool and can be combined with condoms and other prevention methods to provide even greater protection than when used alone. But people who use PrEP must commit to taking the drug every day and seeing their health care provider for follow-up every 3 months. https://www.cdc.gov/hiv/risk/prep/ Not a first line defense but as a second line I think a few of us could benefit from this. Anyone know a clinic that offers PrEP? Edited January 10, 20179 yr by Hal65
January 11, 20179 yr You need to ask for Truvada, otherwise they won't know what you are talking about. If you look at the Medicine forum there is some information on it.
January 11, 20179 yr It can be obtained from a doctor or clinic specializing in HIV, see the pinned thread.

I don't see a pinned thread, being a technological dummy I am not sure even where to look, help please, the link I saw was for the CDC in the USA. Is it available in Thailand?
