Hello,

I found this thread:

which basically says you can get non o 3 month visa without showing funds, which you can use up to a year (multiple entry) by crossing borders and coming back, but it only says that if you're married.

My question is, is it possible to get same deal, if I'm a father of a Thai child, but not married ? So based on family rather than marriage.

I'm especially interested in "not showing my funds" part. I'm aware I can do this in Vientiane and Penang, but must show proof of funds, which is a deal breaker for me.

Thanks.

I believe you can get a 90 day non O without financials at savannakhet, extendable by 60 days at immigration.

They dont issue multiple entry non O for being a parent

you need the birth certificate and copy of house book where the child is registered.

Ubonjoe will be along soon to correct me if im wrong :)

You will only be able to get a single entry non-o visa based upon being the parent of a Thai in Savannakhet. Vientiane will also do them with no financial proof.

Penang  is the only nearby location that will do a multiple entry non-o visa based upon being a parent if you can show 400k baht in the bank or proof of income.

You can get a 60 day extension of the 90 day entry at immigration to visit your child.

Getting married seems a bit rash!
