Is the 21/12/2017 the expiry date on the Visa ? If so, While that Visa is valid (until 21/12/17), every time you enter Thailand you will be given a year stay. If you enter on 20/12/17, you will be given a year stay until 20/12/18. After the visa and 1 year stay (almost) runs out, you then apply for yearly stays.

Up to 20/12/2018 if you leave Thailand and re-enter on 20/12/17, just before the expiry date.

Don't forget to do your 90-day reports! ;)

Your visa allows unlimited one year entries up to the enter before date on it which appears to be December 21st of this year.

You can get almost 2 years of total stay from your visa by getting a new one year entry just before the enter before date. After that date you will need to get a re-entry permit to keep that last entry valid if you want to travel.

Should the 2nd sentence not read: You can get almost 2 years of total stay by getting a new one year entry just before the "permission to stay until" date? Please confirm. I am unsure.

No ... the key is that you must enter before the visa expires to get a fresh one-year permission to stay. The Enter Before date on the visa determines the last date on which you can do this.

Not really. The permission to stay date would be after the enter before date. There is is no way it could be before the enter before date.

After the enter before date the visa is invalid for entry.
