Hi all.

So,Ive had the true vision Gold package now for over a year.I am quite happy with the replacements to the package after we lost the HBO channels.

I was flicking through the menu looking for a good movie, and by chance happened to press on one of the channels that i dont get.I pressed on to the platinum channel that shows all the old movies, and lo and behold it came up live. This was about Tuesday of this week.Since then i have been able to access all the plat channels that i dont subscribe to and a couple of the other channels that i cant normally get.I havent received any notification from TV that i have been upgraded for free. I am trying to find out if anybody else has had this happen to them.

I would be grateful for any confirmation from any other TV users. If anybody has not tried to access these channels,i would give it a try. If i get a bill next month for the plat package,i will inform them to stick it where the sun dont shine.

Thanx in advance for any info.

KKD

Upnotover

Thanks for the info,it could be right. Also we got a credit card fron TV in the post yesterday,i wonder if its linked. Its a crafty ploy, because the channel that shows the old movies,is quite good for us old movie buffs. So far  weve had.

Captains Courageous,Don Juaf(errol flynn) The old man and the sea,and loads of oldies but goodies. My problem is that i might like it too much.

Thanks Joe,did you get a TV credit card in the post recently?

My wife got one since it is in her name now but that may of been a year ago now. I have gotten one for my TruemoveH post paid account.

I have been a Platinum Package Customer for 10+ years, started back when it was "UBC" prior to them changing the name to "True"....   I am definitely not pleased nor satisfied with the Dropping of HBO from their packages...   I tried to explain my dissatisfaction to my Thai Partner by explaining to her that with HBO it was like getting to eat at a 5 star hotel several times a month (when there was a Good Movie to watch) and the rest of the time like eating at MK or Pizza Company...   Now with the channels offered in exchange for the HBO packages, it was like being stuck eating at KFC and or the Food Court, but still having to pay the same price as the better Food / Service offered before...   Once I put the example of "Food" into the equation she totally understands my frustration...   True saves money yet charges the same, as True Customers pay the same for far lesser quality viewing experiences...

There have been multiple mentions of different compensations offered, but the only thing that I have seen or been offered is "1,000 Trueyou Points",  which when you read thru their contractual agreements, relates to an actual cash value of only 100 baht...  And that can only be spent at Trueyou Merchants of which I cannot find any up here in Isaan...

In the Bangkok Post article today True says only about 1% have cancelled their service since the change, so they figure most a "Happy" with the change...   It's just that most people like myself are taking time to research and evaluate the alternatives (of which there not a lot) prior to cancelling their Truevision accounts...  The Internet TV options seem to be decent, until you factor in the possible "One Internet Gateway" that the government is considering... Which would put Truevisions back into a Only Choice situation once again..

That's great if you have a good internet connection. Most of the country, especially outside of major metropolitan areas, doesn't.

I have 3BB and initially was sold and paid for 15Mbps service. When they connected it, they could only get about 8Mbps. So, instead of correcting the problem & getting me the 15Mbps service as sold to me, they just downgraded me to the 10Mbps plan. My usual speed is 4.5 to 6.5...Too bad they don't have a 5 Mbps plan. They could downgrade me to that.

Typically Thai.

There are numerous threads on how rubbish TrueVisions are now. Why anyone is with them is beyond me.

You can get netflix now for 300 baht a month and I guarantee that once you subscribe you will never leave them. Their content is excellent and ongoing.

You can get free tv channels bbc etc etc on filmon.com

You can download any of the old rubbish movies on truevisions for free using torrent sites.

My advice.. cancel your sub to true. Get with the program dude
