Bangkok’s Roads Are a Bloody Joke Now — Mates, It’s a Crime Scene Out There
Lads, can someone tell me when exactly Bangkok’s roads turned into a warzone? No, seriously, when did the streets go from smooth silk to pothole bingo? Used to be, ten years back, I’d take the harken Fireblade out late at night, Bangkok all lit up, cool breeze, empty streets, mate, it was high-speed poetry. Proper freedom. You could tear it up from World Trade to Bang Na, lean into the corners like Rossi, not a care in the world. Midnight Bangkok on two wheels? Pure bliss. Now? All you got left is Rama 9 and Vibhivadee, barely. Otherwise, it's like riding through a scrapyard blindfolded. Every single road’s been dug up, patched, dug up again, patched again, repeat that about fifty times, but no one ever bothered to actually repave the thing. It’s just holes patched with more holes. You’re not riding anymore, you’re surviving. Suspension’s screaming, rims getting buckled, and don’t get me started on the manhole covers sitting two inches above the tarmac like they’re out here doing parkour. I don’t know who’s running the show, BMA and city planning must’ve been handed over to someone’s cousin’s mate who’s never seen a road in his life. Used to be you could cruise at 3 AM, nothing but you, the hum of the engine, and the city lights stretching ahead like a runway. Now? Every hundred meters there’s a trench like they’re about to lay fiber optics straight to the center of the Earth. What happened to the pride in the roads, eh? Thailand’s got some of the craziest bikers in the world as it is and now they’re stuck dodging potholes like playing hopscotch on acid. It’s embarrassing. The bikes deserve better, we deserve better. Bangkok used to be a nighttime playground for riders, now it’s a demolition derby for scooters with bald tires. I swear, if I hit one more raised drain cover, I’m writing a strongly worded letter to someone’s mum. Sort it out, Bangkok. -

Report Ubon Ratchathani Woman Arrested Over Fake News on Thai-Cambodian Border
Picture courtesy of Thai Rath Cyber police have detained a woman from Ubon Ratchathani for disseminating fake news about tensions on the Thai-Cambodian border, causing public alarm. At a press conference on 9th June 2025, police revealed that a Facebook user, "Lucky Farm," posted false information regarding border disputes, claiming explosions and military casualties which led to evacuation orders. These claims, while untrue, had garnered significant attention and could potentially threaten national security. The investigation, led by Police Colonel Arunphan Vanichanun, identified the suspect as 32-year-old Ms Piranunya from Ubon Ratchathani. A warrant for her arrest was issued by Khon Kaen Provincial Court, charging her with uploading false data to a computer system, potentially damaging national security. Upon arrest at her residence, Ms Piranunya admitted to posting the misleading content. She claimed she acted based on social media information, influenced by her preconceived biases regarding the disputes, without intent to profit. She has been handed over to the authorities for legal proceedings. Adapted by ASEAN Now from Thai Rath 2025-06-10 -

Prevent Under Fire for Labeling Migration Concerns as Terrorist Ideology
So in your list of 'freebies' supposedly provided by the state, you weren't comparing the treatment of illegal immigrants in Italy and Greece with the UK but, in fact, with another unnamed country? I'm not the one avoiding the question. You inferred - and have done so again - that the UK treats illegal immigrants better than any other country. I asked you to provide evidence to support that premise, something that you have failed to do. -

Crazy farang
Never been involved in road rage, seen plenty of videos so I know what to expect should it ever happen and it has. I'm at home, can't sleep, this man went crazy he hit my wing mirror hard trying to get through a gap that was to small he instantly lost the plot, yes I shouted more in shock rather than anger, I was trying to get away from him but he just wanted to get me at all cost, shouting, he kicked me, hit my Helmet all the time shouting, I was not going to stop untill I reached somewhere I Knew would be safe, I reached my local market and pulled in expecting him to launch another attack, he ran over to me and said " sorry I've had a bad day I'm angry, I thought you wanted to fight me" crazy!! I'm in shock not many things scare me but this did, he was now calm but inside I wasn't, I'm not and have never been a violent person, never hurt anyone in my life and never would. Can't get this out of my mind, wish I had video or taken his reg number, I just wanted to get away from this person. No point going to the Police and reporting it, I just want to move on. Been driving for approx 55 years 21 years driving emergency vehicle's in London, driven all sorts of cars and bikes never been involved in Road Rage, hope it never happens again. How do I get over this, can't sleep all I can think about is what if. I feel sick. My worst day in the 18 years of living here
