When I got my motorcycle I asked for full coverage in case it was stolen or crashed. As it turns out, it ended up being crashed I ended up in the hospital.

The hospital asked to hold on to the motorcycle insurance until my medical insurance paid them. My insurance pays 75% of the bill. I agreed.

The following is how things happened as I understand it.

The total bill was 155,773.00 baht.

I orginally paid 39,177 (25% of the bill).

After I left the hospital, the hospital took my motorcycle insurance (worth 15,000 baht) and added to the 39,177 baht that I paid.

So my total payments to the hospital were 54,177 baht.

Which means I paid 34% of the bill of 155,773.00 baht

That left the balance they forwarded to my health insurance of 95,503 baht. The correct amount the hospital should have sent to my health insurance was 110,503 baht and not 95, 503 baht.

The hospital originally said they would hold the motorcycle insurance until my insurance paid them and then return it to me. Now they are saying they spent it. I would like my 15,000 baht back.

The motorcycle insurance was not for health coverage. It was for the motorcycle.

What are the chances I will get my 15,000 baht back? Is it worth talking to a lawyer about?

It sounds like you are talking about the regular gov't required m/c insurance. Is it a square sticker?

That insurance covers the driver up to 15k. It covers passengers up to 50k.

If you bought a seperate policy, now would be a good time to get it out and read it.

Good luck.
