THAIPHUKET
I will not try this myself. Where is a reliable shop? Will a complicated screen lock be enough to safeguard my files, ? Here how the thing looks and approx cost. https://goo.gl/ULzFD0 Edited January 15, 2017 by THAIPHUKET

THAIPHUKET
Chicog it seems that I tend to underestimate what is available in CNX. Thanks Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
THAIPHUKET
This leaves the issue open = is a screen lock good enough to leave the laptop with the shop? Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
scottiejohn
I am confused by your post. The link goes to battery info, as the Post suggests If you just want a new battery there is a very good shop in Panthip Plaza (used to be first floor up) who will either have the battery you need or will get it for you. What is the 'lock screen' problem got to do with the battery problem? I am not being critical! I just don't see the connection.
THAIPHUKET
I guess it will not be done on the spot. I would have to leave the laptop in their hands with tons of personal files. That is my question = is a screen lock good enough to protect my data? Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
Chicog
Have you not password (or other) protected your PC? Anyway, installing a new battery is so simple they should be able to do it in front of you in less than half an hour, even if there are a few screws involved. Added: Make sure they get a brand new battery out of a sealed packet. Edited January 15, 2017 by Chicog
Andrew Dwyer
Thaiphuket, I have the same laptop and was wondering why all the fuss until I looked at mine It is not a question of flicking a switch and removing the battery as I think others are assuming. But with a password protected screensaver you should be ok, I should take it to the shop as early as possible and hover around till it's done, after all there's 10 special screws holding the backing plate on and then a few screws to hold the battery in.If he wants to keep it overnight then take it to the shop next door, I assume you will use a place like MBK ? which is full of shops able to do this for you.Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa Connect
