Archaeological sites and places of worshipping damaged by flood

BANGKOK: -- Ten archaeological sites, one museum and six cultural centres in 12 southern provinces were damaged by recent flooding, Culture Minister Veera Rotepojnajarat disclosed on Wednesday.

 

Moreover, he said 615 temples, 83 mosques and six churches were also damaged while 113 artists and officials of the Culture Ministry have been affected by the flooding.

 

The minister said he had assigned the Fine Arts Department to inspect the damages and assess the budget needed for their restoration.
