Crime Fake Policeman Caught Impersonating Officer & Attempting to Search Foreigners at Asiatique

A man impersonating a police officer was arrested on the morning of 29 April, at Asiatique in Bangkok after attempting to search foreign tourists while under the influence of methamphetamine. At around 08:30, Pol. Lt. Gen. Siam Boonsom, Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, along with senior officers including Pol. Maj. Gen. Pallop Aeamla, Deputy Commissioner in charge of narcotics, Pol. Maj. Gen. Witawat Chinnakham, Chief of Metropolitan Police Division 5, and Pol. Col. Watit Rojanapaitoon, Superintendent of Wat Phraya Krai Police Station, ordered an operation that led to the arrest. The suspect, identified as 38-year-old Jakrapong, was apprehended by the first operations patrol unit from Wat Phraya Krai Police Station on charges of illegal possession and use of a Category 1 narcotic (methamphetamine) and impersonating a public official. Police on patrol noticed Jakrapong posing as a plainclothes officer and attempting to conduct a search on a group of foreign nationals. Upon confrontation, the real officers showed their identification and proceeded to search the suspect. A fake police ID card was found on him, falsely identifying him as “Pol. Sgt. Jakrapong” from the Metropolitan Police Division 7. Under questioning, Jakrapong admitted to having fabricated the police ID himself and confessed to recent use of methamphetamine. He voluntarily agreed to a drug test, which initially took place at Wat Phraya Krai Police Station. The result was positive for methamphetamine in his system. He was then taken to Charoenkrung Pracharak Hospital for further testing, where results again confirmed the presence of drugs. Accident Rail Grinder Incident in Sattahip Leaves Railway Worker Injured
Picture courtesy of Sattahip News. A railway maintenance worker has been injured in an accident involving a rail grinding machine in Sattahip district, Chonburi province. Rescue teams from the Sawang Rojanathammasathan Sattahip Foundation were alerted to the scene and responded promptly, transporting the injured worker to hospital. The incident occurred near the Khao Chi Chan railway junction in Moo 11, Bang Saray subdistrict. Emergency personnel arrived quickly and provided initial medical aid to 22-year-old Mr. Phattharaphon Thongkham, who sustained injuries to his left foot, which had been cut through to the bone. He was subsequently transferred to Sattahip KM.10 Hospital for further treatment. A rail grinder is a specialised railway maintenance machine used to restore the profile and smoothness of train tracks According to eyewitness accounts from colleagues at the scene, the rail grinder was operating as part of routine maintenance work. Mr. Phattharaphon was reportedly walking along the track conducting an inspection when he stumbled over a tree branch by the side of the rail. The misstep caused his foot to slip under the moving machine. Fortunately, a co-worker noticed the fall and immediately activated the emergency stop mechanism, preventing more severe injuries and potential limb loss. Authorities on site recorded the incident for further investigation. Officials have indicated that a thorough review will be conducted to ensure similar incidents are avoided in the future.
