Visa information

Featured Replies

Hi to everyone,

I'm seeking advise regarding tourist visa, this is my current situation. I am italian passport holder, i took 60 days tourist visa at thai embassy in Italy in november 2016 and did 30 days extension on 14 january 2017. On 14 february my extension will expiring and i will like to stay more 3 months in Thailand. In fact my return ticket is set to 15 may. I'm asking you if it's a good choice to go at any other thai embassy at nearby country and take new 60 days tourist visa, then extend it more more 30 days. I was thinking for example the thai embassy in Hongkong.  Could be a good idea or i should act in different way? Thanks to all for reply.

No problem to get another single entry tourist visa. They are free until the 28th of February.

There are closer embassies and consulates where you can get one than Hong Kong.

Vientiane Laos and Penang Malaysia are good nearby locations to get one,

Thanks for prompt reply, one more question as you mentioned Vientiane, i most go by air or i can go also by land without problems?

You can travel to Vientiane by land to get the visa. You cross the Mekong river at Nong Khai.

Best way of travel depends on your current location in Thailand of course.

Many prefer to use a flight to Udon Thani (from Bangkok) and travel from there overland to Nong Khai (an hour or so).

From southern Thailand the Nong Khai border could easily add up to a 20h overland trip.

As far as I know there are also nonstop flights from Phuket or Hat Yai to Udon Thani.
