SUPHANBURI: -- A woman who went into shock after receiving injections to help her sleep is now in ICU in Suphanburi.

While the doctor who gave her the jabs said claimed she was just broken hearted.

Daily News reported yesterday that a relative of Hokhun Sae-jong, 34, called Suchada Wandee, 31, had taken her to a clinic in Suphanburi after she had been unable to sleep properly for two or three days, reports Daily News.

Hokhun was tired but otherwise OK at the time.

The clinic had given her two injections to help her sleep. But, Suchada said, within 15 minutes Hokhun was having hot flushes, chest pains and couldn't breathe properly.

Then she went into shock, her eyes rolled, she started foaming at the mouth, her tongue protruded and she went into unconsciousness.

She was rushed from her home in Song Phee Nong district to the Somdej Phrasangkharat Hospital where she is in the ICU.

Daily News reported the doctor at the original clinic as saying that the woman was showing symptoms of being broken hearted and had suffered an adverse reaction.

It sounds like she has an allergic reaction to the shots and not her having a broken heart as the doctor at the clinic said... if it's even a real doctor!

I've been broken hearted many times. My skin, tongue, eyes and mouth don't act out when I'm broken hearted. Everything stays put as I go in search of my next partner to calm my broken-heart. So this "doc" is sure strange.

Ah, the old medical condition of being 'brokenhearted'. If you've had a few days where you can't sleep. are injections really the best idea? Maybe some forms of exercise, herbal medicines, or if warranted, sleeping pills?

Im guessing that he cheated in his medical exams!

It's a common curse insomnia. Michael Jackson was on xanax, anesthetic injections, painkillers, just to get to sleep. I think alot of other celebrities have overdosed and died as a result of taking medicine to sleep.
Medication is not the answer. Yoga, exercise and a good wind down before bed time should do the trick.

Doctors are always prescribing cure all pills. Pills have side affects that can do damage to the body. Always choose the natural way not the chemical solution.

I find it difficult to believe they said that.

And what broke her heart....the cost of treatment

Some people are allergic to certain antibiotics and react negatively to them.

I once heard of a case of a 5 year old American girl who was in Turkey with her family who worked for the U.S. embassy there.

She was given an injection for a cut on her leg she got while playing outdoors near her house.

She nearly died due to an allergic reaction to the drug they gave her, but fortunately she survived.

If that is really what the doctor said, he should be sacked right away, before he can do more harm!

As usual Thai style of pushing the blame away. The national martial arts here should not be Muay Thai, it should be Tai-Chi, The Art of Pushing~~~

Broken hearted............Is that a medical term/diagnosis here in Thailand.

What a clinic that they can diagnose a broken heart heart. The doctor puts Edgar Cayce to shame

Many fake things here TIT

lost in  translation maybe?

Broken Hearted = Heart Attack

I take medications that can interact with antibiotics and other meds that can kill me.

3 times here in phuket at private hospital  i was given meds that could have killed me even after telling the doctor first about it, then again checking at the pill dispence window when paying so 2 checks and then i go online at home and see its a lethal combination.

No wonder this happens here all the time cause no real consequences

I police it all myself. I now have a full medical kit my own antibiotics my own meds. Most thai  just take docs word for it like its gospell

Carefull everyone

This is a real danger to all people.

Thai medical is very good i think and i have been helped many times here but its got its weak links .

Bit surprised as doctors are most highly educated group, that such bs misdiagnose is voiced..

Asian love of Anti Biotics as a sign of value for money from the medical practitioner.... The bigger the bag of pills, the more they care....

Why? They most of the time say whatever they can to save thier own skin, without thinking about if it´s really possible first. Happens on a daily basis.

I agree with Blue, I'm sure it's been badly translated, which DOES happen on a daily basis.

Because it's stupid.

I can believe the clinic messed up, but I can't believe that was their excuse.

Can most definately be like you are saying, but it also happens very many strange and unexplainable things now and then in this beautiful country.
