If you read the hole topic instead of just what you wanna read you would see i not have any ticket down yet.

And i really hope you get another hobby then writing shit to people on all forums you come across. For what you know.. Maybe it was pretty good reasons to have an overstay? Or maybe it was none. Nobody has asked.

Have a good day!

There is no reason You are in this country at the graciousness of the Thai people and Government I have been here 15 years and never had an overstay

I understand a few days or even a week or 2 for some reason beyond your control The Thai government understands this but   your overstay is just

flagrant disregard for the law  That is why you were banned Not because you're a good guy And I am sure the majority who are law abiding people will agree with me here

Not hard at all. The system already does a search for a person's history when the passport they are using has not been used before for entry. A nationality and date of birth  match might result in them checking further. Perhaps that result narrowed down to those on the blacklist and then a facial recognition search.

Finally  -  I was waiting for this one - people that don't believe the Thai Immigrations airport computer systems are not sophisticated are in for a shock  -  they are designed after the US TSA system bought from the USA as well as the xray & body scanners.  They can match birthdays and photo's of other people that have entered the Kingdom  -  Op, don't do it, you could find yourself Personna Non-gratta for life.  I am sure you had to answer the question on your application "Have you ever been deported for committing a crime in Thailand"  You have, maybe not under your new name, but you have.   Fly to Cambodia or Vietnam - you can now get a one year mult-entry visa for Vietnam, or as a British subject  you may have a Visa exempt on entry.  Skip Thailand for awhile and save yourself a lifelong ban.   Don't listen to the "Experts 'that have a friend'....................you could be in a world of dog poop.

Also, the risk does not end at the immigration desk at the airport.

On a good day, the imm. officer & computer fail to see your blacklist status, and let you in, but what then?   You go to your normal surroundings, the guest house owner notices a change of surname in the passport, and maybe some other people around you as well.  It does not take long that half the village knows you are there and have a new last name. Then you either piss off a neighbor, or he is just jealous of your farang lifestyle.

Suddenly one day for no imminent reason you get a visit from Immigration Police and it is game over.

I'd say September is pretty far away in this view...

For information: I dot NOT have any ticket to Thailand.

I was curious if the blacklist is just "talk" and i applied for the visa. And i did not change my name for this purpose. I took my old birth name back.

So the embassy does not check up on immigration before giving out any visas? Sounds strange for me..

Sorry but I thought you needed to include a flight ticket in your application for a tourist visa, which you have said you have already received, but now you are saying that you don't have a ticket booked

You do not need any ticket, you need a reservation.

And i have not lied on the application.

I changed my name for OTHER reasons then getting back in to Thailand again.

I applied to check if i was on any blacklist or if it was just talk. Because i did not get any document that says i have a ban for entering the kingdom.

But can i transit in Thailand if i go other places, like cambodia or the phillipines?

Is it possible to EXPAND this topic a bit?  And I am from USA and have a Thai Fiancee.  We went for tourist visa to the USA  for 3 tries. ( the first we were told by a Thai guard to LEAVE when tried to get some ANSWERS for a BLANKET rejection which was clearly subjective - Thai woman - not coming back - had return ticket and tons of proof etc.

So to keep this short, (there is a Facebook Page) we are at Fiancee Visa and approved - but had so much SHIT and TROUBLES and it is ESCALATED NOW, but in Catch 22 land..........

So I guess I can add more if OK - I have notify me of replies but still haven't figured out how to navigate the website better and find or get the notifications in email or??  It seems to work when online, but when I come back is my problems -- I don't want to publish my email, but think I am fairly easy to find or can do private messages too.  So thanks for the forum and website.......wish it was easier to get a direct answer, but this thread placed a nice light too on un-expert advice so to speak........but in today's world it is hard to find good experts too and there is a LOT OF INFO on the internet. Peace, love and happiness.

I am not judging you on things you have done in the past, to be honest I wish you luck.

i was only saying what I did because any time I applied for a tourist visa part of the application was a confirmed airline ticket.

as for whether you can transit through Thailand then I'm not sure, someone else will have to answer that.

your initial post was about coming back to Thailand after being blacklisted, nowhere did it mention transiting through Thailand.

Your on the 'No fly' list. Simply changing your name for a new passport isn't going to get you off of that.

Nice post - It is a new and different world.  I also want to know the U.N. Laws - I had a very unusual VISA issue in Japan and everything worked out fairly well........I also met some guy there that knew about UN laws and he got detained for a bit but then went on.  SO.........I am SO FRUSTRATED by the USA government and I hope they drain the swamp soon.  I also try to play by the rules too...........but I have often wondered about transit visa through the USA - we were in Mexico and wanted to GET THE VISA -- were FORCED back here to MORE ISSUES still ongoing and cost is no object for the USA and I hate all these services that DO GET THINGS DONE -- but wonder about HOW --- and WE/I do all the work anyway - unless they do lies to get it through - another catch 22 and results and maybe a Thai way - another discussion for another day.

I sent with photos, reservation, application and money for it. If you use KLM for example you do not need to pay before you get the confirmation of your tickets. An advice for other people who not wanna buy the ticket before applying for a visa.

On the visa it says it need to be used before a date you get. So you do not need to use the tickets you sent with the application as long as you enter the kingdom before the date you have.

But i am thinking about going to for example cambodia or phillipines. And then wait til sepember to stay in Thailand again. Im not sure how it will be if i come there and using Bangkok as a transit.

You do not get a booking reference until you pay for the flight and it is the booking reference that the embassy/consulate is looking for.

booking reference = paid confirmed flight

Suspect information, I think it varies by airline

Air asia definitely give you booking ref before you pay also give you the option with the booking ref of paying at 7 11

Turkish give you ref, when we went there they waited for payment until the Turkish visa received

I agree, depends on airline but Klm was mentioned and until a Klm or Air France flight is paid for it only states ON HOLD, no booking reference issued until flight paid for in full

Well i used KLM and choose to pay with bank transfer. Then i got booking confirmation on my e-mail. Maybe its different from what payment options are available in each country.

And i read now on the embassy website that you need a confirmed ticket OR a reservation.

Im not sure if its different from embassy to embassy.

No check is made when applying for a visa, I suppose they think nobody would be that reckless, do let us know if you successfully get round the ban. It's not the visa that counts, it's immigration at the other end.

My former name.

Because my former name is now also my middle name now. I took back my birth name.

I was just wondering maybe i wasnt on any blacklist... Because they gave me a visa.

But if the embassy does not check up on immigration before giving out any visa then i understand. It must be the only country in the world that does not check up with the immigration.

Remember that Jane Goodhall (think that was her name) years ago got about 30 years for drugs and of course a life ban. After she got out early she did a degree and thought it would be jolly to visit her old friends in Thailand. Applied for and granted a visa, only to be arrested and sent straight back to the UK from Bangkok.

What about the photographs they take at airport immigration? Change of name and/or passport has no bearing on the similarity of a photo that may reveal the same person and thus provoke more questions.

It is linked to their biometric database, how effect the system is is a question that can only be answered when he enters the country. My question would be why the OP needs to get into the country before his ban is lifted. Why not wait another few months and enter legally?

A PNR code is created immediately when a reservation is made irrespective of payment. This applies to all IATA airlines.

I havent  sais im going. I was just interested in knowing if i was on the list, if not i could travel back before. Thats why i was curious if someone has experience from it. If the embassy do check the immigration and that i will arrive legally in Thailand.

I guess we will not know before someone try.

And if i decide to use Bangkok as a transit. Will i be arrested or would i be allowed to change airplane at Suvarnabhumi?

Everybody does wrong things in life. And hopefulle we learn from it.

How does a visa stamp look like if you are on the blacklist, do you get any document that says it? I did not.

And how is it possible to know if your on the list, if the embassy can not check this when you apply for a visa?

Thai airline staff can check if you are on the blacklist, I know this for a fact, others as well offer as a service, copy of passport needed

Two issues - the airline might not let you board, when they run you through the system (blacklisted persons are stopped).  If you made it through the first check, and there is a way to stay "airside" and not go through immigration, on the transfer, maybe - I do not know if this is considered illegal - but ...  I would not risk messing up my travel-plans and perhaps incur a longer ban by trying this.

It should be stamped in your passport, next to your last exit-stamp from Thailand.

One of the companies that did this check seems to have gone out of business, according to another thread.  Maybe someone can suggest another.

Did it say anything on the receipt for 20000 baht that you must have paid at the airport

"Have some questions about blacklist, maybe someone can help! "

I have no intention at all to help somebody who breaks the law and ask for advice to do it again

No just a standard receipt like you get down there.

I remember signing many documents that where all in thai. And she said "can not come back 1 year".

I attach the stamp i got in the passport. Maybe someone can read thai.

My Thai is not the best but year translates to ปี , so looking at your big red stamp then you are definitely banned for 1 year
