Can anybody advise me on how long it takes to get a proof of income letter back from the UK Embassy. I sent it on the 10th January. They debited by debit card on the 19th January 2017.

They will not answer my email and I cannot get through on the phone! I aid for express return.

How long should I wait? is it more reliable using a visa service?

yes I presume it was taken from my debit card as it arrived by express

Does this mean that you have now received the letter?

If you do contact them, ask for a tracking number. Then you can check on its location using:  http://track.thailandpost.co.th/tracking/default.aspx

And/or email the post office with the tracking number asking for their assistance:  [email protected]

The one time I contacted them about something delayed, they were quite helpful.

Assuming you're in Rayong, I've usually received EMS items sent from Bangkok (to me in Pattaya) in one or two days from when they were posted.

Hi Rob. I recently requested one and towards end of the 10 working days I emailed them to chase up. It had been sent but not delivered to my condo which is a fairly new development. It had been returned to them. They called very quickly to explain this. They re-sent it with my phone number on it and I got it within a couple of days. They had given me the tracker number which for some reason I couldn't get to work. I called them and they very quickly emailed me a copy of the information. Happy with their service.

I had to take mine to Bangkok for verification as I'm currently on a tourist visa. I was forewarned that it might be necessary, so no surprise. However, at Jomtien I was advised that once non-immigration 'o' visa obtained I would have to get a second original income letter for the extension documents. That seems an unnecessary nonsense to me. It apparently wouldn't need verifying for the extension but I'm assuming I will have to pay the Embassy again. Has anyone else experienced this?

Just one more point. My application has been guided by the 'ExtendingStay.pdf' document. In there it states that at the Ministry of Consular Affairs in Bangkok there is a same day service for 800 baht. When I arrived early afternoon I was informed this was only available if you request it before 09:30. I paid 250 baht and they are posting the stamped income letter back to me.

Generally Immigrations will accept a copy of the income letter for the conversion to a non-imm O visa and then the original income letter can be used for the extension of stay. Bring along the original for them to see, but then ask them to accept a copy for the conversion application.

If you've already handed in the original with the conversion application, you will most likely need a new original since it would be required for the extension.

Hi Suradit 69

Expecting delivery of the once letter today or tomorrow. I've tracked it and it's in Banglamung.

Your understanding of the situation was mine too. However it was made clear to me at Jomtien that I would have to get a second original. I tried to politely question it and the woman immediately became highly officious and insisted. I will try to talk to someone else when I go back.

This recently happened to me, but it was not B.E.'s fault. I asked for the tracking number and B.E. supplied it , I went on the website for EMS and was surprised to see that it was reported tried to be delivered twice at both times when we were at home. We went to the post office and reclaimed the letter taking ID with us. We were told that the man who tried to deliver the letter did not where our address was????

I always use Key  visa.  They take papers to BKK on Wednesday; collect the letter Thursday & it is available for pick-up the next day.
