webfact
3 police and celebrities linked to Lao drug lord By Supachai Petchthewee, Kornkamol Aksorndej The Nation BANGKOK: -- AT LEAST three policemen are facing investigation after being recognised in photos alongside alleged Lao drug lord Xaysana Keopimpha. Two more celebrities, meanwhile, will be summoned for questioning in relation to the expanding investigation into Xaysana’s alleged drugs network in Thailand. Famous motorcycle racer Akarakit Worarojcharoendet, better known “Benz Racing”, was the first prominent figure to have his name linked to Xaysana. National Police Commissioner Pol General Chakthip Chaijinda had ordered probes into reported links between three Thai police and Xaysana, Pol Colonel Krissana Pattanacharoen said yesterday, in his role as deputy spokesman of the National Police Office. The investigations will start based on pictures showing the policemen posing alongside Xaysana, who was arrested at Suvarnabhumi Airport last month on drugs charges. scorecard
More evidence that the top national cop does not have control of his senior officers. Given that, what hope is there that the next levels down are under proper control and doing what they pledge to do as police officers and only what they pledged to do? Apart from the above what major victories / what value has the current top cop given to Thailand? Is this, heaven forbid, another case of the wrong person somehow assigned to the top cop job? 44 due months ago! Emster23
Is that the best they can do? Yawn. Donald Trump had connections with NYC mafia. Had to, no way around it when mafia controlled entire concrete business. Concrete important if you want to put up buildings. Drug lords important if you want to keep cash flow positive, could consider payoffs a form of taxation to increase price and lower consumption.
