BANGKOK, 7th February 2017 (NNT) - The Prime Minister has confirmed details of the plan to appoint the country’s new Supreme Patriarch.

Prime Minister Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha said on Monday that the selection of the new Supreme Patriarch will be based on seniority, suitability and state of health, while the nominees will represent the two major sects of Buddhism practiced in Thailand.

Concerning the opposition to the draft law to protect rights and liberties while promoting ethics and establishing standards of journalism, or media reform law, Gen. Prayut said that while there should be a study to compare such cases with the practice in other countries, Thai media should also be reviewing its own role and conduct in the past.

Meanwhile, the National Reform Steering Assembly’s committee in charge of media reform, has advised that it is ready to hear proposals from members of the press to find balance in all respects in the new draft, before it reaches a conclusion at the next meeting.

"Thai media should also be reviewing its own role and conduct in the past."

So should the Thai military but sociopaths having issues seeing the truth.

So the government chooses the new Thai Buddhist leader. A bit like the Italian government picking the next Pope. This is certainly getting very interesting. A bit like a TV series than reality.

So in addition to having control of the legislative branch, the executive branch, the judicial branch of government and of course the military, he now wants to have control of the religious affairs of the country.

This of course has happened in other countries in the past and we all know the sorry outcomes as a result.

So just think back as to who it was that had control over the top religious man previously. No prizes for coming up with a Dubai resident.

But as none have "Thai-ness" in them, they all will not be applicable.

Although China and No. Korea may be close runner ups.

Poor media you are really in his cross hairs and its uniform Monday. I think he speaks more forcefully on a uniform Monday. I wonder if on a Monday morning he looks in the mirror to comb his hair does the glare blind him?? Maybe change the lighting a little bit.

The old junta 2 step. They have no wish or desire to listen to media proposals its all window dressing to try and show some compassion. Its a done deal. When they select the new Supreme Patriarch he should be extremely vetted. Check his bank account for unusual enrichment and make sure he does not hold a pilots license.
