Feeling Desperate Now

Featured Replies

We have adopted six dogs, and now find that we must move next year, I know that the ladies who use this forum are the best, and I am really feeling desperate about homing so many dogs (we live in Pattaya, which is over-run with sick, stray creatures).

Does anyone have any tips as to the best way to home our beloved pets? I have put a picture of Sister on the Pets section of TV, hoping that some kindly soul will take her.

Any tips or advice would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

i have the same problem- i can't even pay people to take my dog while i go take care of some things in NY... for now i have decided to stay where i am with her until something happens... put up flyers already saying i would pay part of the rent on my house if someone wants to stay in it and watch her, no reply to that either. very frustrating.

I'd take em all if I could, but I already have 5 dogs of my own (4 of them female) so can't see that getting past hubby :o.

Have you tried putting up posters in the area (english farang lady, that is) Pattaya has alot of expats living there. Or would you be willing to help move them to another part of Thailand if someone were willing to take them? I see you've posted this in several forums (against the rules but in this case, ok by me), have you considered using some of the online want ads like bahtandsold?

I empathize, I couldn't leave my beloved pets behind either. My sister has a nice big backyard so if forced to move back to the US I could at least keep some there and some with her ex who also has a nice backyard.

So difficult to get dogs rehomed, esp adult dogs. I can probably count on one hand the number of adults we've rehomed from our dog center in the last year! Pups are easier. My only suggestion would to be to get in touch with the Pets section of Outlook in the BKK Post on Sundays. It used to be run by a lovely lady called Chompoo, but I think it's changed now. They advertise dogs for Soi Dog Rescue & a few other rescue agencies & have done it for us (HHDRC) as well. Perhaps if you explain your circumstances & desperation, they might run Sister's picture & info, as well? Worth a try. Good luck!

Thank you ladies again for some good advice, I will follow up. And appoologies for multiposting Sister, I did sneak her in the pool section, since she loves swimming. Sorry!

Thanks again to you all.

Have you tried the local temples?
