Activities in memory of late King held in many provinces

BANGKOK, 10 February 2017 (NNT) – Residents of several provinces have organized activities to commemorate His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej. 

At Mengraimaharajwitthayakhom School in Mueang district of Chiang Rai, an exhibition has been set up to showcase artworks by Mathayom Suksa 5 students dedicated to King Bhumibol Adulyadej. There are 964 pieces on display, most of which are portraits of the late King and depictions of his royal duties. 

As part of the Social Development and Human Security Ministry’s project in honor of the late monarch, Nakhon Phanom province has launched a teenage pregnancy prevention campaign, in which 200 local youths were given a lecture on sex education as well as religious principles, the Thai way of life and culture. The young participants also took part in an activity to clean local temples. 

In Chon Buri, more than 400 disabled people, along with their families and caregivers, participated in an event to mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities organized by the Provincial Office of Social Development and Human Security. On this occasion, they together performed a human formation of the Thai number nine in tribute to His Late Majesty. 

Meanwhile, residents in the capital district of Uthai Thani also held a charity project dedicated to King Bhumibol Adulyadej. Landscaping was carried out in a deserted temple in Nam Suem subdistrict while a new residence was constructed for Buddhist monks to live in.
