As far as I can see from the footage. Is that the van pulled in front of the car, blocking its escape. The people in the van got out and the van driver to assault the people in the car. A shot went off. The sound of someone either injured or in terror can be heard coming from the car.

Who shot who? I don't know. What happened before? I don't know.

Watch again. But watch again after you have viewed the earlier video where it all kicked off. It is clear that the car driver got very agitated by being blocked in and initiated the altercation. He then aggravates the situation even more by aggressively tooting his horn as he passes the van. Now, we all know, Thais do not like that at all.

But now comes the puzzling bit. Why, knowing that there was a van full of hacked kids off right behind him did he stop again?

And why, seeing those same kids pile out and head toward his car, did he not simply drive off. Because his car was not  blocked in. That can be clearly seen in the video. That driver was spoiling for fight. and his behaviour reflects that.

I don't condone the kids behaviour, but the shooter, in my opinion, clearly bears prime responsibly for this dreadful affair.

I face this everyday i drive, when i m signaling to move off from the side of the road, some motorbike will come park infront of me blocking me not giving me enough space to move off. I usually get out n politely request to unblock my vehicle. So far i m alive.

So the family car complained about the minivan double parking and blocking them in. The minivan trying to save FACE retaliated by attacking the family car. Family car pulled out a gun and shot minivan.

I wonder at how many times the family car has double parked and blocked somebody in. Seems like he'd have shot anybody who complained.

When you keep a handgun in your car I would doubt you follow each and every driving law.

RIP to the young lad. Wrong place wrong time. So sad.

Yes Keesters, I agree with you. This is very much a case of 'Loss of Face'. Not only did Mr. Poshsomboon loose face in the eyes of the youths, he also lost face in front of his wife. And that can really make a man see red!

He had 2 clear opportunities to get away from this escalating situation, but failed to grab them. His ego got in the way, with tragic consequences.

A behavioral phycologist would have a field day with this one!

I have to say Moonlover your assumptions on this case are spot on. Were you in law enforcement before you came to Los?

No, sorry, I've never done never law enforcement, but I have long studied the effects that stress situations have on human behaviour.

What I see here is a classic case of the 'flight or fight response' going to its extreme conclusion. It would make for an enlightening case study.

The 'flight or fight response' is the primary cause of 'road rage'.

Not so sure Poshsomboon lost any face as he was in the right complaining about being blocked in. It was the minivan and its youth occupants that lost face at being complained to. They must have known they were wrong but like a lot of people, object to being told so.

Poshsomboon was completely in the right, with no face to save, up to the point he grabbed his gun.

Mini van should have accepted and apologized for being wrong and moved out of the way.

Oh, Poshsomboon lost face alright. I agree with you, he had a legitimate grievance. The van was blocking him in and he wanted out of there. But instead of a polite request, he starts shouting and protesting. He toots his horn, he flashes his lights. Then his wife joins the melee. Not the best way to get their cooperation. He gets their backs up and he gets himself wound up. And when you've lost your cool, you have lost face. Whether you're in the right or not.

I must have missed all the shouting and protesting, tooting of horn, flashing of lights. But to be honest that's what the minivan deserved for blocking him in...inconsiderate louts.

A polite "please" would not deter the minivan from committing the same offense elsewhere.
