I'm a bit tightfisted. Copper wire was invented when my cousin and I fought over a penny. So - you need to get documents notarized for the Thai embassy. That's going to cost well over £100. Would they accept documents notarized by a Justice of the Peace? That doesn't cost anything in Scotland.

I know I could email the embassy, but they don't reply.

Not sure about the getting it done at a justice of the peace but they will accept one from a solicitor.

Reports are that this one in London recommended by the embassy  is aware of the requirements and has been helpful http://www.ashtonssolicitors.co.uk/  and do it for a lower cost than notaries.

Cheers. I know quite a few NPs, but that - I suppose fair enough! - doesn't seem to win you much of a discount.
