Is there a coordination center in Monaco? That is where I would be.

and good luck to the Thai police with catching this guy.

Quite a phenomenon.

Can someone explain to me what the Thai arm - Dhammachayo in particular - has done wrong exactly? I casually follow the news and have read the wiki account but  am none the wiser. The whole thing looks like political persecution to me, as with the Falun Gong.

At least they know where to look.  Sure police around the world would be happy to help look for this guy, or not.  He gone.

Juelsminde and Korsoer (Korsør) in Denmark: http://www.dhammakaya.dk/

Why dont they hold the court case in absentia, like they do in many other  countries and strip him of his properties and wealth and if not found, from the temple., there is always a remedy. Then put him on a wanted list around the world to be arrested

WIth this type of Global support you can bet your estate they will not catch him

He is gone like the wind

Like Trump says in a case of war you never tell you enemy that you are going to be coming

Keep them in the blind

The police DID a wonderful job of this

So, the popo believe the guy is still in Thailand, eh...555555

Dear BIB your way out of your league with this guy. He is not a religion he is a corporation a business. Jim Jones on steroids. Check out the corporate hanger and see which one of his personal aircraft are missing.

BUDDHA MONEY LAUNDERING INC.

This Lung Por (or maybe Jao Por) has obviously found inspiration from the Church of Rome.  I wonder if he banks with HSBC?

Then better read your news again, the abbot is accused of money laundering in a big fraud case where money was stolen from something like a cooperative. Many poor people were duped by this.

Under Thai law the defendant has to be present for the first hearing. They're thinking of amending this law so they can proceed with some cases against Thaksin.

Okey! Great! Just waiting for the organisation to go galactic. It sucks big time. No money on Mars!

There's a wealth of details to be found easily by Google search.

How opportune that you say you 'don't know'.

There's no connection or similarity to falun gong whatever.

It's about receiving massive amounts of depositors funds stolen from a big Thai credit union. And it's also about false representation of buddhism, e.g., large numbers of naive followers giving massive amount of funds to buy a better place in 'heaven' / next life.

And it's not the first time this monk has been embroiled in funny stuff about funds.

Thanks for the replies above. I'm still not clear. Money laundering of money lawfully donated to the temple?

So the actual crime is tax evasion? I've never seen that specifically mentioned but it's the only sense I can make of it.

As to the credit union business - I can't make head or tail of exactly what was going on there. Any clear explanation in a few words?
