Just thought I'd share a good immigration office experience.  Went to Korat Immigration yesterday for my retirement extension - in and out in just under 40 minutes.  Obviously not too busy but it was also the service that was impressive.  Went through the document pre-check smoothly with a very helpful young man, received my number and was almost immediately called to the front desk by a pleasant, smiling Officer, who found it highly amusing that I had entered Feb 29th instead of March 1st on my application form.  He continued to smile and chat away all through the checking, stamping and computer input process.  Obviously these things go much smoother and quicker if you go prepared,  I had copied every document required and signed them and took my wife so any questions could be handled quickly with no confusion.
