Hi All,

I cant find my Car Ownership book, the green or blue one I think ! Can I get one at the same place where you get the annual road tax ?

Maybe somebody took your book and used it to borrow money?

Better check for your Chanote if you own a condo or other property while your at it.

Firstly obtain a Police report for lost/stolen book.

Take report to DLT along with ID, proof of address and details of vehicle.

They may issue new plates as well.

It was a motorcycle in our case, and not taxed for the previous 6 years due to the loss of the book.

New book, 6 years back tax and new plates cost around 600 baht.

Phuket in particular has a reputation for having assets transferred using a "Mop Annat" (Thai for Power of Attorney), by people that had no right to the assets.

Paperworks is not scrutinized, in a recent case it has been alleged that even a Lawyer accepted a Signature that was not properly witnessed.

Happens a lot in Thailand, but Phuket has had a fair amount of media coverage regarding these types of activities.

Happened to me by (now) ex-wife. Took me 3 years & bribes from the top down to get ownership back.
