Noise Control - Bophut

Featured Replies

Does anyone live near BASS SOUNDS stereo supply centre on the main ring road in Bophut? Its between the turning for Bandon Hospital and the new Macro location and it faces Family Mart. Constant BOOMING all day every day. The same beat all day every day. They start early and end late. How anyone can work with that same boom all day every day i dont know. The noise travels for kilometres and as a resident in the area it is finally driving me mad. Ive been in the area for 6 months and i have just got 2 new neighbours who's dreams of chilling in their pool have been hurt.

How can we deal with this? Every day im on the verge of driving there and having a polite word but i just feel it will fall on "deaf" ears.

Any thoughts?

You are talking about the ring road. That's an industrial area now. Sorry mate , MOVE.

The problem with much of Samui now. Move Move move :o:D :D

Dont get me wrong guys. Samui is Samui. I totally understand if a club or bar is playing loud music and even Chaweng Lake (tonight) has its bonanza of music which depending on the wind will hit me. Youre quite right if i dont like it i should move but I think its down to me getting wound up that its the same beat for 15 hours a day and when you drive past the place they are just sitting there doing nothing!

Tomorrow im gonna go and have a chat with them.

Ill keep you posted!

I suggest you report them to the Police, and ask them to see if they have the relevent paperwork licenses etc for PA, which they have to have. There is also an environmental Health/safety office at the Tessabaan, and you should register your complaint with them. as it is a residential area, not an industrial one as someona above said, and they should not be issued with the permits for their PA. Good Luck, but I don't think you should approach them unless you know how to speak to Thai people the right way....if you don't you could make the situation worse.

Thanks for your advice. I know how to speak to Thais so thats not a prob. Id make it into a joke and tell them its making me go Ting Tong!

I live 1km away and the booming is excessive. And youre a 100% right about it being a residential area.

Ill keep you posted.

While your down there figure out why there is always a river in front of that place. Its like driving through a swamp at the bottom of that hill. Is that business leaving their hose on so that it doesnt get dusty or is this water comming from elsewhere?

I hate getting nasty muck on me everytime I need to go that way.

Wasn't that part of the ring road re classified as an industrial area? If not that means Macro & Big C are being built in a residential area.

Poorfarang,

Past Bass Sound heading towards Chaweng, there is an empty block of land with a restaurant on it.Just passed there a while ago & the water seems to be coming from there.

There is a zoning laws map available? Is it online and is there one for Koh Phangan? My father-in-law has it worse, a dreaded karaoke bar just outside his house. Drunken howlings half the night keep him awake. Believe it or not, he has actually complained to the police a few times but it never lasts. I'd love to give him a map showing that the karoake bar is illegal :o
