Defiant Veera now urges media to visit new casino site

Veera claims in the photo that the casino is just behind the Chong Sai Takoo checkpoint, Burirum.

 

Anti-corruption activist Veera Somkwamkid has made a post on his Facebook page on Wednesday inviting the media to visit a new casino allegedly sited on overlapping territory between Thailand and Cambodia.

The more I read and comment on the Thai news the more I have come to appreciate that this is truly the land of excuses. I wouldn’t mind so much if they were remotely plausible or had a semblance of sense. Mostly they are just absurd!

Hua Lamphong shuts out homeless at night

IN A BID to prevent homeless people from sleeping inside Hua Lamphong train station at night, the State Railway Authority (SRT) last week strictly enforced an order to close the railway hub for three and a half hours.

THE NATIONAL Human Rights Commission (NHRC) team visiting Chiang Dao district in the far North to probe the extrajudicial killing of young Lahu activist Chaiyapoom Pasae will ask to see all evidence, especially the closed-circuit TV recording, which authorities claim shows Chaiyapoom resisting officers who stopped him at a checkpoint, plus autopsy results.
