An Australian has been detained in Siem Reap provincial prison over fraud allegations dating back to 2015. A provincial court spokesman confirmed the arrest of Andrew Howard Pike, 57, but was unable to give details of the alleged victim or say how much was involved.

Court documents said only that he was charged over unspecified sums in Mondul 3 village, punishable by up to three years imprisonment. Khmer Times learned that the complainant was Toun Borin, the owner of the house Mr. Pike rented.

In 2015 Mr. Borin wrote on Facebook, “Please be informed that Andrew Howard John Pike, holding Passport N 9143462, is a fraud from Australia. “He is now living in Mondul 3 Village Siem Reap, Cambodia. He cheated Micheal from Canada and Steven from USA.”
