MOSCOW: -- The Royal Thai Embassy in Moscow has issued a travel advisory for Thais planning to travel to Russia in the wake of Monday’s deadly blast at a subway station in St Petersburg.

Posted on its website on Tuesday, the embassy asked Thais to be more careful while travelling in Russia, especially to Moscow and St Petersburg and closely monitor news from local media as well as:

www.thaiembassy.org/moscow and www.facebook.com/rtemoscow.

People in need of emergency help can contact the embassy 24 hours a day at +79169392155.

No Thai citizens have been reported among the casualties of the explosion, the embassy said.

Eleven people have been killed and about 50 others injured at the Technological Institute metro station’s platform. The incident is suspected to have been a suicide bombing.

No, but check the OP as it's not about a warning for Thailand but a warning for Thais in Russia.

That said, remember the terrorist attack on the plane of Russian tourists coming from Egypt. There are many Russian tourists in Thailand. Also westerners of course.

Of course the Thai embassy in Moscow wouldn't comment on such a thing. Foreign embassies in Thailand might.

It really doesn't matter. The embassy are doing the right thing. Firstly it is common sense though I don't think that many Thais do travel to Russia, secondly I am sure that you would be complaining if there was an incident and no warning was given.

The warning is something that most governments do for their citizens traveling abroad.
