Chinese engineer 'marries' robot after failing to find a human wife

‘Wife’ can identify Chinese characters and speak a few words, but hubby plans upgrades

Hangzhou - A Chinese engineer has “married” a robot he created after failing to find a human spouse.

 

Zheng Jiajia, 31, an artificial intelligence expert who designs and creates robots in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, created the “female” robot at the end of last year, the Qianjiang Evening News reported.

 

The robot, which he named Yingying, can identify Chinese characters and images and even say a few simple words, the report said.

Zheng “married” his creation in a simple ceremony on Friday, according to the report.

Good luck. The first ever stress free marriage. Plus, if they decide to divorce, he keeps everything. 

When he wants a change, he just modifies her and reprograms.

 

He must have a good personality!

Excellent but as they belong in the kitchen hope his new "wife" does not get washing up water in her circuits !!

good times are waiting for us. no more women harassment over men:)

 ... yeah, and in case 'she' comes up with the likes of 'need new moddabike for the sick cousin of papa's buffalo' ... just delete & reprogram, doesn't sound that bad at all actually ... 

Probably comes up with errors in pidgin english....."long hole - long hole - system leeboot".....

Well she looks better than Hal. I wonder what happens if her program allows her to get jealous. As long as he keeps the pantry full of WD40 he should be okay.

 

And if he wants to have an affair there are various models available at $1,000 or so from AliExpress.

Wonder if he intends to mass produce? I suppose he would call it clone her a twin sister?

Personally, I think someone has a screw loose. 

This is incredible, two things I would like to know:

 

1) Does she have teeth

She can probably handle small loads, but hopefully is rust proof and he's not into anything too kinky, although marrying a robot already puts him in the kinky arena.  

Couldn't he get a visa to spend some time in Issan?  Even a Chinese nerd can find a wife there

whats better than a robot wife? being single.

It will all end in tears when he finds her cheating with a smartphone!

I think it's funny  .....     it's fine for me as long as I keep sane and enjoy life.
