Vans operating on Thai-Lao border fully comply with traffic laws

NONG KHAI, 7 April 2017 (NNT) – Ahead of the Songkran Festival, all vans operating across the Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge in Nong Khai have been improved to meet safety requirements.

In compliance with traffic regulations being imposed during the Songkran holiday period, van operators providing services across the First Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge have made necessary adjustments to their vehicles. Based on recent inspections, all vans in the area are now equipped with seatbelts and GPS tracking devices for passengers’ safety.

Mr Yim Kusol, Manager of Prasitchoke Transport Company Limited, affirmed that the company’s vehicles are fully ready to serve Songkran travelers while only qualified drivers who have received training from the Nong Khai Provincial Land Transport Office will be allowed to go behind the wheel.

During the holiday, he said the company will have ten vans and nine coaches running between the two sides of the Friendship Bridge. Additional vehicles can also be deployed if necessary.

Took the van from Ayutthaya to Bangkok and back again today. We were all told to buckle-up both times before the van would leave.
