US-North Korea conflict keeps public and private sector worrying though not directly affect Thailand

BANGKOK: -- The Federation of Thai Capital Market Organizations says the US-North Korea conflict would not unduly trouble the Thai bourse because the country's economic foundation is sound, according to its chairperson Mrs Vorawan Tarapoom.

Besides, she said the value of the Baht has not appreciated significantly and correlates with regional trends.

She went on to say that she felt that the situation would not deteriorate into WWIII.

With regard to Investor Confidence Index for the next three months, she stated that it will remain stable but will critically depend on global economic and political developments which could induce investment outflows.

Meanwhile the president of the Federation of Thai Industries, and chairman of the Joint Public’s and Private Sector Committee, Mr Chen Namchaisiri said he agreed with the Ministry of Finance’s assertion that the current problems related to Syria and North Korean will not affect the country directly.

He however was concerned over the US review of 16 of its trading partners enjoying trade surpluses.

Thailand is one of the 16 and any official action by the US to redress this could create major trade and investment uncertainties.

Not to worry until the rockets start flying...All hell will break loose.

Is there a North Korea conflict? There may be and maybe not. A bit too soon to tell.

I wonder if Mrs Tarapoom could point out North Korea or Syria on a map of the world, or give us the dates of WW2. I really doubt it.

This is of course, according to her.

She should see the movie Red Dawn before committing herself to such silly remarks.

What will happen will happen whether you worry about it or not. No need

to loose sleep, just have plans for if things go pear shaped.

Red Dawn is just a silly movie.

Anyone who draws breath has reason to worry.

Almost agree with you. Who knows what is going on at the Alert Room in NK. Who knows what is happening inside of the very thick heads that now make up the US government. But make plans? I watched one episode of the "Get ready for the end of the world." joke series of US bling series. Some men digging holes in the ground and stocking up on oat bars. A total joke. I was taught in the army what to do;

1. Close all doors and windows.

2. Tape up windows.

3. Move family to the bathroom.

4. Place head between upper legs in the "brace" position.

5. Kiss your ar&se goodbye.

Trump has the answer.  He's planning to "tweet" Putin in Korean claiming responsibility for that attack on the Syrian air base and sign it Kim Jong Un and he is going to "tweet" Kim Jong Un in Russian that the fleet of warships sailing to the Korean Peninsula are actually Russian ships in disguise and sign it Vladimir Putin and he's taking an online language course to learn Thai so there's no telling what's coming this way, maybe a request for rights to article 44!
