Cold weather and strong wind ruin fruit orchards in Trat

Cold weather and strong wind has damaged fruit orchards in Kao Saming (เขาสมิง) District, Trat Province, blowing stamens off the fruits.

Ruengsak Liangthanom (เรืองศักดิ์ เลี้ยงถนอม), Chief of Tambon Thungnonsi (ทุ่งนนทรีย์) Local Administration in Kao Saming District, revealed that besides the cold weather and strong wind, the prolonged lack of rainfalls in Trat has affected the growth of fruits and crops.

As a result, the province’s gross fruit production this year is expected to be lower.

Trat’s renowed pineapple crops have also been affected in quality and quantity. Mr Ruengsak speculated that the decreased in pineapple supply during this period might increase pineapple prices.
