Any one know for certain? Wolf snake or banded Krait? I know the pics are a bit vague but I wasn't going to get too close even though I suspect it might be the Wolf Snake. (There are two of them together, one is much more shiny yellow / black than the other) Not aggressive and didn't really want to move at all when we were clearing out the dead leaves. They kept coming back to where we found them.

I'm pretty sure he's a wolf snake. But always best to be safe rather than sorry.

Thank you for not killing it just because it is a snake.

Would never kill a snake unless it was the only choice, i.e if it was endangering family in the house or whatever. We get a lot of snakes, mainly Rat Snakes and the constrictors, the odd cobra though.

People pay money to look at these through a glass tank bank in the West, here if you are quiet, can get them in their natural surroundings completely free.

Best left alone, they do me no harm so I reciprocate. Fascinating to see though.

Thanks for the links and the pics! I thought it might be the Wolf Snake, but as soon as the Thais see the black and yellow they go into madness mode and think it is going to kill them.

My wife thought the same about the many Brahminy Blind Snakes (Flowerpot Snakes) I've found until she saw them wriggling about in my hands and I lived to tell the tale.

Thais seem to fear & want to kill almost any wild animal, it appears to me.

100% I caught a baby cobra the other day, went to let it go, had to verbal the FIL that wanted to kill it on the spot. Never had a problem with snakes used to keep them back in Oz, cant get used to that kill everything mentality. Oh well.
