Looking for a bit of help I've been trying to book a flight online from Khon Kaen to Bangkok  with thai airways but it's rejecting the credit card. Not sure why as we have used it a few times with no problems. Looking at some previous posts other folk seem to have the same problem. Can I go to the airport in advance to book the ticket?

As last resort of course you can.

All operating airlines have a booth there.

Depending on where you live in KK (city?) there are other agencies.

One was (is?) in the Pullman hotel.

 

I can't help much about the credit card.

Maybe you should mention details about the CC (issuing bank/country, type of CC).

 

Just out of curiosity:

KKC to BKK is solely operated by Thai Smile airlines (the LCC offspring of Thai Airways,

Legally Thai Airways is the codeshare flight and probably sold more expensive than booking at Thai Smile.

At KKC airport they will probably direct you to the Thai Smile counter.

Can you not pay Thai through 711 shops like Nok & Air Asia ...?

Hi thanks for the quick response it's a UK credit card (Nationwide). We are actually in nong kung si so a good 90 min drive away (so would be a last resort).

 

Maybe a quick call to NW might help. I also have a NW CC and, very occasionally, have issues with using it in Thailand but always gets sorted with a call. Tends to be a computer block, even though they have my contact address as Thailand.

Have you phoned the bank fraud line to make sure they haven't blocked the card ?

Absolutely (for Thai Smile).

Credit/Debit Card

Counter Payment

ATM

Internet Banking

 

 

There is some minimum time required between booking and flight for counter payment.

 

ATM: any person with a Thai bank ATM card could do the payment at one of their banks ATMs.

 

Easiest indeed 7/Eleven.

 

Always good to avoid CC for such purpose.

Additional cost/risk involved.

Brilliant thanks folks tesco is 10mins away.

You might need a print of the "bill" or copy on the smartphone (email).

Not sure whether they send an SMS with the payment details.

Seemed like a website bug to me. Had the same issue with a hotel booking before. Great to know that you were able to book! Cheers.
