hi im in Chiang Mai im coming up to 90 days after a 30 day extension. Id like to stay for another 30 days. Many people have advised me its completley possible to go to Laos and get a 30 day, although some people have said even another 60 day tourist visa at this location.

All I want really is confirmation it is indeed the case you can get an extra 30 days on top of the 90 ive already had by choosing this route.

It is the first time ive left the country since I arrived

thanks

If you qualify for a 30 day visa exempt entry you could do a crossing to Myanmar at Mai Sai in Chiang Rai province to get a 30 day entry.

The nearest crossing where you could also apply for a new tourist visa would be at Nong Khai to cross to over to Vientiane Laos where the Thai embassy is located.

You will receive a new tourist visa in Vientiane without difficulty. You apply in the morning, and receive back your passport with visa in the afternoon of the following day. Make travel and hotel arrangements accordingly. Note that the required Laos visa on arrival (that you must acquire when crossing into Laos) is cheaper if you have US$ rather than paying in Thai Baht.

Tim as you seem to be an authority.. According to ajarn.com: Deductions

An employer is not allowed to make any deductions from the basic salary or overtime pay except for income tax, contributions to a labour union

However my employer deducts 10,000 baht over three months at the start of the term as a sort of security deposit. Is this illegal or legal because we agreed to it in the contract.

Im going to challenge this so i could do with knowing

Thanks for your help
