BANGKOK: -- Electricity prices for the next four months will rise by 12.52 satang per unit.

The hike is due to increase in costs for generating electricity and is due to a change in the FT (fuel tax) rate that fluctuates according to costs in operating power plants, reported Thai Rath.

The change will mean the average cost of a unit of electricity will be 3.5079 per unit from May to August.

The FT rate has been adjusted from -24.77 to -37.29 said spokesman Wiraphon Jirapraditthakun meaning that prices would rise.

This is due to increased gas prices.

Well I'm sure that it has nothing to  do with the price of the fish in the market is it?

they always come up with those magical wand word to justify increase TF cost, have we ever seen the FT goes down? NO, never,

how this mysterious FT calculated no none knows, we just sigh in hopelessness

 and pay...

No, it's been adjusted from -37.29 to -24.77, which is an increase.

Exactly, sir.

Well, it's not that easy to express fractions using the fingers ... let alone negative ones ... :cheesy:

Happens quite often.. lured in by a cheap (usually not always) rent.. and then made to pay more because of the utilities. Depending on usage it can work out cheaper, but more often then not it does not work out cheaper.

Price for water shows fairly big regional differences - i mean the real price as on the bills - so hard to figure that out ... 40.- per cubic-meter is certainly too high tough ... who would've thought that knowing their bogus electric - charges ;-)

Just for comparison: last bill 33 cubic = 584.- THB all in ...  aka. 17.70 THB per!
