BANGKOK: -- Following the recent trend of locals in the southernmost Narathiwat province drinking water from a “sacred pond” that they believed cured illness, health officials tested the water and found out the pond is actually contaminated with feces.

 

Instead of being a magic cure-all, provincial health officials said yesterday that the black water will actually cause stomach flu.

 

Officials took action after rumors spread among residents that water from the pond, located in Sri Sakorn district, cured a man’s blindness and that drinking the water can make sickness go away

Stomach flu? Flu is caused by viruses. Feces is bacteria laden, especially ecoli. One can easily die from ecoli poisoning, especially elderly or very young. Very dangerous and stupid to ingest such filthy water.
