A Pattaya man who stopped by the roadside to buy some durian was robbed of a three baht weight gold necklace and amulet on Thursday night.

As 33 year old Udomsak Phuthi, son of a restaurant owner at the resort, was perusing the fruit in Soi Chalermprakiat 19 a man on a Honda Wave came up behind him.

He grabbed the jewelry from the victim's neck and fled into the night.

Siamchon News reported that the victim had a long wait at Pattaya police station as no one was on duty when he arrived.

They said that the theft was the latest in a string of such thefts with police making no arrests.

A three baht gold necklace is worth about 60,000 baht.

A job well done!

Isn't that the purpose of wearing jewelry - attracting attention?

Another day - another nail in Pattaya police's reputation.  When will people learn the cops cower during the hours of darkness in case they meet with bad people, emerging only during daylight hours to strut their stuff robbing motor cyclists.

Get the personal enrichment police on this guys tail. 60,000 baht gold chain.
