Klong Toey vendor arrested with 80,000 meth pills

By The Nation

Police arrested a Klong Toey community vendor in Ayutthaya as he allegedly tried to smuggle 80,000 methamphetamine pills from a petrol station to Bangkok. Acting on tips-off, police officers from the Metropolitan Police Bureau staked out the petrol station on Asia Road in Tambon Klong Suan Plu in Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya district on Friday night.

They spotted a man carrying a black plastic bag from the station’s toilet room at 10pm.

Police came out of hiding and checked the bag to find 80,000 meth pills inside.

Metropolitan Police deputy commissioner Pol Maj-General Chaiporn Panit-attra told a press conference on Saturday that the arrested man was identified as Pong-anan Tuanglekphet, 55, a vendor in Klong Toey community in Bangkok.

Pong-anan told police that he was paid Bt50,000 to take the drugs to send to another person at the Klong Toey community. He said the person who hired him was identified only as Off.

50k for 80000 X. That's not much. For 50 thousand I wouldn't even get out of my car.

But this "acting on a tipoff" again!! These snitches are still boring!

what i dont get is why they don't let this guy go to the guy paying him and then make an arrest... its always the middleman that gets caught here.. its like they don't want to go up higher.
