34 smuggled Myanmar workers arrested

BANGKOK: -- Troops and police arrested 34 Myanmar workers early Monday morning for trying to sneak into Thailand to work without proper documentation.

 

Acting on a tip-off, troops and police stopped the Nakhon Sawan-Kamphaeng Phet bus in Nakhon Sawan’s Banphot Wisai district for a check.

 

The bus, driven by Pipat Suksamran, 29, was found to be carrying 44 Myanmar nationals but only 10 had immigrant ID cards for working in the country.

 

Sixteen men and 18 women did not have travel documents so they were detained at Banphot Wisai Police Station pending deportation. 

They said they paid a broker Bt9,000 or Bt10,000 each after being promised work in Bangkok.

So they were travelling the wrong way... Not to Bangkok but towards Kamphaeng Phet !!!

 

A few days ago a foreigner died in a car crash involving a Taxi from Bangkok to Pattaya. The accident happened in Kamphaeng Phet province.

They really need some better roadsigns, gps navigator, etc. in Thailand.

People smuggling does not happen here

Thats well over a 150 this week from Myanmar and Cambodia

 

With employers waiting in BK

 

So why the hell are they here then on Holiday maybe

People smuggling is a problem that should be taken care of by the governments of

Thailand, Burma, and Cambodia as well as Laos, not to mention all the people smugglers that

keep sending people to Europe from Africa. This problem seems to be world wide.

Guess that is what happens when countries have oppressive governments and conditions, and

the grass looks greener somewhere else
