A British man and his Vietnamese wife were charged yesterday with involvement in child prostitution.   Colonel Keo Thea, chief of the Phnom Penh anti-human trafficking and juvenile protection unit, said the man, 69, and his wife, 27, stayed at a rented apartment in Chamkarmon district.

The man was charged by Phnom Penh Municipal Court prosecutor with paying for child prostitution and faces up to 15 years in jail if convicted. His wife was charged with soliciting for child prostitution and faces up to five years.

A police officer with the juvenile protection unit said the man told his wife to select four Vietnamese girls who lived in Cambodia to be his adopted daughters. All were aged under 15. They were to live with him so he could teach them English literature.

No compassion with people who travel here to bang children.

I can understand how you can get caught driving without licence, get involved in possesion of drugs or doing some other illegal stuff. Bad things can happen even to good people and it's not always their fault. You just get hooked up with wrong people... .

But buying ticket her to look for a children is consious decision. No compassion to them.

And driving without licence (sic), possesion (sic) of drugs are NOT consious (sic) decisions? Were you conscious when you wrote that?

"According to a United Nations convention on racial discrimination, there is no distinction between the terms "racial" and "ethnic" discrimination. The UN convention further concludes that superiority based on racial differentiation is scientifically false, morally condemnable, socially unjust and dangerous, and there is no justification for racial discrimination, anywhere, in theory or in practice. (Source: Wiki).

Britons can be of different race or ethnicity. Suggesting that the crime automatically makes the accused of one specific background when it's not stated is discriminatory.

Could be, Britain is made up of people with Anglo-Saxon, Celtic, Indian sub-continent, African, and Slavic ethnicity for starters.

The word race tends to be more linked to national identity in American English literature e.g The Japanese race, the Chinese race, the German race etc. Giving a national, and based on current national names and boundaries connotation. British English copies this more and more in its use.
