Only a copy of his birth certificate with your name on it may not be proof enough (for legal matters) that you are the father?

Birth certificate and copies of his house book registry. Divorce certificate that shows at least joint custody would be good also along with a copy of her ID card would be good to have also.

If married when the child was born that would be shown on the birth certificate that makes him the legal father. Even if not married when born he is still the legal father. Proof that he was married to the child's mother is enough for that.

Thanks, i was under the wrong impression that for legal matters, a court has to declare a person as the father, pursuant to some medical tests. Because unlike the mother who gives birth, the father is just what the couple declares to the authorities.

Marriage to the mother of a child makes the fathers parenthood  legitimate.

If both parents agree the fathers parenthood is legitimate a DNA test is not need if not married.
