Just got my non o visa from savannakhet thank you to everyone for the advice it was spot on all i needed was marriage certificate and the rest of the stuff no proof of funds needed thankyou everyone for your input  savannakhet is not the nicest place to visit  but if you are only there one night its ok but leave early in the morning because if there is hold up you may have to stay longer

All you need is

Marriage certificate origional and photo copy (both sides). We both sign it.

Copy wifes house book and ID card both signed by her.

Passport and relevent photo copies.

I took updated kor ror 2 but not asked for so not given but better safe than sorry. (Easy to get any amphoe 20bht get mrs to get it on her ID card)

Filled in application form and two photos (size on application form.

5k baht.

Filled in visa on arrival form and photo. 1500 bht or $35 (varies dependent on your nationality.)

Hand in day one 0900 to 1100

Pick up next day 1400 to 1600

DId you have to convert to Laos currency or will the tuk tuks accept Thai baht? Restaurants?


They will scam you, no matter the currency you'll use.

Never been scammed in Loas no matter what currency ive used. Its called being savvy and bartering and if you dont like tbe price walk away.

If you didn't feel scammed that doesn't mean you'd never been scammed, this is up to you, I tend to take care of my money and give them to people that deserve it, not to tuktuk drivers that asking you 200 THB for any ride you ask for or filthy restaurants with no more than mediocre food as are around Sawannakhet. Said so have a nice day as this discussion or right now completely off topic.

All i can say is you eat at the cheap restaurants you get what you pay for. If you pay 2oobaht for any tuk tuk ride over there then thats your choice. Ps you took it of thread
