Thailand watches most VR porn in world, according to Pornhub

A screenshot of a VR video on Pornhub.

BANGKOK: -- Thailand has won the dubious honor of being the world leader when it comes to watching VR porn, according to popular adult website Pornhub.

In its very academic insights released last week, Pornhub handed it to Thailand as the country who watches the most virtual reality porn on its website, despite the government’s attempt to ban porn on the internet.

And, apparently Thais have been giving themselves a hand as well.

For those who find this unbelievable, you can rest assured that the country has truly kept up with modern porn technology.

I'll certainly not be watching the video that photo came from. Dear oh dear...

When people use a VPN to watch Pornhub doesn't it report them being outside of Thailand?

Just curious here as I do have a VR device (Oculus Rift) and don't use it for porn. I did not even know that VR porn was available.. and VR devices are quite expensive and need a real good computer (for the Oculus Rift you need at least an I7 processor and a top of the line VGA card (think 20k bt).

So I really wonder how a country like Thailand would be world leader if it takes expensive devices (oculus is not even for sale in Thailand).

But of course I could be totally wrong.

*edit* I am wrong.. .there are far cheaper VR devices... that explains it. Oculus is top of the line

Looks more like a scary movie to me.

Not good for their reckoning when they say no porn sites nearly as bad as they say no prostitution here also !

Quite suprising for me too.

Where do they have the numbers from regarding a country that blocks this site (for the unknowing)?

I find this porn (when trying p.h.):

it is readily accessible sometimes if you do a google search and enter from the site from the search. Same principle as circumventing pay walls I guess.

We are talking about VR (virtual reality) not about VPN (virtual private network). It is true you use VPN to access sites that are otherwise blocked, but that is not what this article is about.

Real good point.. because a good VPN will hide where you are from and pretend your somewhere else (I got a vpn provider with many places.. US, UK, Netherlands, ect)

Maybe it's one Thai guy who keeps watching the same (scary) VR movie over and over again.

:sorry:

I thought porn was ilegal in Thailand

This story is just complete nonsense. Thais are not paying for porn anyway .

Can't see that ''fact'' making it into the good PMs next address to the nation...

The worlds greatest kite flyers too!

At last after second place on the world ranking of the most deadly traffic accidents now Thailand is number one in something.

They probably do have the most cases of Porn in the world, given its popularity as a nickname

You do know this is an English language forum...?

Why does this statistic follow me to every country I go too?

An interesting snippet of data from the OP:

Quote

The site’s infographics show that VR porn gets a massive 500,000 daily views, and ironically, the site surpassed 900,000 views on Christmas Day last year, a day when people are supposed to spend time with family, think Christian thoughts, feast, and reflect on the gifts of the season. But apparently, many people used the day to spend some “quality time” with themselves as well.

:shock1:

Taoism: shit happens

Buddhism: if shit happens, it isn't really shit

Islam: if shit happens, it is the will of Allah

Catholicism: if shit happens, you deserve it

Judaism: why does this shit always happen to us?

Atheism: I don't believe this shit

Not surprised! There are more Thais than foreigners but I guess the finger will be pointed in the direction of the foreigners?

Many resorts I've stayed in over the years, located in various parts of Thailand, had and probably still do have, free porn channels.

Try xhampster and red tube both sites were blocked but you can get o.k now

Slightly off topic, as many know Mail Online has been blocked in Thailand, but if you use a reasonably good VPN,  you can still get it.  Just saying....
