Arson victim dies in hospital

A woman has died in hospital from the serious burns she suffered in an arson attack in Siem Reap. Vang Por, 35, and Yong Borey, 51, were asleep in bed at home in Prasat Bakorng district when the fire broke out in the early hours of Sunday.
 

Ms Por was transferred to Phnom Penh to receive specialist care for her severe burns but died on Monday night. Her body has already been sent home for her funeral, while Mr Borey continues to recover at Siem Reap Provincial Hospital.
 

District police chief Min Chantha said the woman’s former partner had been arrested and charged with premeditated murder. He said Ms Por and the accused man, Sok Heng, 33, had previously lived together and had one son, but were not married.
