May 23, 20178 yr I have a 1 bedroom and only need to cool 1 BR at a time (so something that can be picked up and moved is ideal). The bedroom is the more important room to cool but it has no windows at all. The other room has a window and balcony; I'm assuming I'll need to get a unit like the above and run a hose from it to the outside. I'm also thinking of just hosing the air from the bedroom into the main room as I'm not in that room very often and leave the balcony boor open (the hot air should circulate out on its own). How can I tell from the physical look of the A/C unit whether it's one of the "good ones"? I've seen in other threads that there are a lot of evaporative coolers which don't do the job well.
