chiangrai
I have been looking at YouTube videos on how to increase your internet speed.I have all ready changed my DNS to an open DNS. Then there are some videos which tell me to open the "local group policy editor" by typing "gpedit.msc" in to the run box and press O.k. But it doesn't work so I can't get past this stage. I have the latest Windows 10 genuine copy with all the updates. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong or another way to open the "local group policy editor"
revelstone
Group Policy Editor requires the Professional version of Windows 10. It does not exist in the Home edition. You could try this, although disclaimer: I have not tried it myself - https://www.itechtics.com/enable-gpedit-windows-10-home/

The document says Go to C:\Windows\SysWOW64 folder Copy the following folders and files to C:\Windows\System32 “GroupPolicy“, “GroupPolicyUsers” and gpedit.msc. alex17pat
To increase Internet Speed in Windows 10, you should Disable Peer To Peer Updates and turn off background apps by going to settings , privacy and background apps. It will increase speed blazing fast. source :- http://merabheja.com/increase-internet-speed-in-windows-10/
