Hi,

I am on a Non Immigrant "O' class. I am usually in and out of the country quite frequently and have not done a "visa run" for about 2 years. Am I able to do an out/in, walk over the border and back? if so how many times am I able to do it in what time frame etc?

I was planning to do it at Mai Sai in the north into Burma.

Thanks in advance.

If you are in and out of the country quite frequently, wouldn't you already have the answers ? Your post is quite confusing.

1) How have you gone in and out previously, on a re-entry permit or do you have a multi-entry Visa ?

2) Is your Visa expiring which is why you need to know about visa runs now ?

If you have a valid visa for re-entry you can do a border crossing for a new entry without a problem. Certainly no problem at Mae Sai.

I assume he has been departing and re-entering  by air which is not the same as doing a border crossing for a new entry.

It easy to understand he has a multiple entry non-o visa.

Ok, so thank you for the replies, If I was confusing. I will start again.

I Have a O Class.

Usually I fly away to work before the 90 days have finished. Hence I do not thing about it,  I return when ever.

This time however, I am going to be here for over the 90 day period. So my question still stands, can I go to a border, walk over and back in the same day / immediately, or not?

Also if I am able to do this, is there a limit on the "out/in" for an "O" Class visa holder?

As I wrote before you can do the crossing without a problem. Just depart the country, enter Myanmar, turn around and come back.

There is no limit on doing it as long as you have a valid visa for entry.

Cool, thank you so much. The only reason I ask Is that the last time I had to do these sort of things they were making news rules, so I wanted to check. Thanks, U have save me an airfare...

Your question is answered, i only add my own experience.

I'm currently on a NON-O A Visa. Walked over the border in Mae Sai last time at the beginning of April 2017. Very friendly officers at the border point. Ready to guide you for any questions. Tell the Burma officers you want to go straight back and you don't need to go any further then the checkpoint. Only pay them the "entry fee" 500 Baht. With valid visa it's very easy to do.

I cross over regularly at Mae Sai/Tachilek and there is no limit with a Multi entry visa on how many times in a year you cross over and back.  If you cross on a non holiday weekday you could be through immigration on both sides and back in 5 minutes.  Take a crisp $10 U.S dollar bill for entry into Myanmar (don't ask Burmese immigration, just hand it to them).

If you are married to, or the parent of, a Thai you can get a 60 day extension of stay for 1,900 baht from your local immigration office.
