Representatives of Ramkhamhaeng University affirms existence of undercurrents in campus

Representatives of the Organization for Election Reformation of the Ramkhamhaeng University submitted a letter to Gen.Saprang Kanlayanamitr (สพรั่ง กัลยาณมิตร), the assistant secretary-general of the Council for National Security (CNS). They affirmed that undercurrent movements do exist in the campus.

Weerasak Pathan (วีรศักดิ์ ปาทาน), the president of the organization, revealed that he used to submitted this kind of letter to CNS Chairman Gen.Sonthi Boonyaratglin on January 30. The letter indicates that Jatuporn Prompan (จตุพร พรหมพันธ์), Thai Rak Thai Party’s deputy spokesman, had tried to stir up the situation and persuaded Ramkhamhaeng students to join protests against the military junta.

In addition, the letter states that there was a distribution of leaflets attacking the government and CNS. Mr Weerasak also expressed the organization’s objection against efforts to defame the government. He added that the organization wants to see reconciliation in the society and hopes that a general election will take place soon.
