Hello all,

I've been in Thailand for 8 months now on a visa non-immigrant O (so every 90 days making border runs to Burma).  I've been teaching English at a high school and have a work permit.  My Visa non O expires August 9th 2017.  I believe I have only two choices: convert to a marriage visa or convert to a visa non B.  I don't believe I can make the timeline for the marriage visa, my Thai wife explained the money has to sit in a bank account for 2 months and I have to apply months before expiration (not clear on this).

Does anyone know the process of converting from Visa Non O to visa Non B? Do I have to go back to tourist visa?  Finally, what happens when my visa non O expires? If I make a final border run to Burma does it just convert to a tourist visa?

I'm currently working at a high school and plan to work there long term.   Any feedback is appreciated! Thanks

You cannot change non immigrant visa classes. If you wanted to you could apply for a extension of stay based upon teaching at immigration. You do not have to have a non-b to apply for the extension.

You could apply for an extension of stay based upon marriage during the last 30 days of any to the 90 day entries from you non-o visa. The 400k baht would need to be in the bank for 2 months on the date you apply. If your income is 40k baht or more from your job you could use that income to apply for the extension.

You can use your non-o visa for a new 90 day entries up to the enter before date on it.
